Hi! We are Kevin & Julie Melfi.

Anyone who knows us, knows that we like change. Not too long ago, some friends of ours were asking how long we had been in our current (now last) house and we were moving. It had been almost 9 years, the longest we had ever been anywhere!

We celebrated our 18th anniversary in January. During our time together we have lived in two apartments, four houses and a townhome. Between the two of us, we have owned 16 cars, 3 motorcycles, and a Little Guy trailer (not in our lifetime, during our marriage!)

It was funny that our friend asked when we were moving, because we were already getting antsy. We had been looking at places to move to. In 2005 we picked up and moved across the country to Murrells Inlet, South Carolina. We were both ready for a change, and wanted to live at the beach, plus his family is all on the east coast, and we figured if we lived at the beach, they would come and visit us!

I was born and raised in San Diego, California. Kevin was born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island. I had no idea what life in the south was going to be like. About a year into it, I was begging to move back to Oregon. We lasted three years before we made the trip cross country and swore we would never leave Oregon again.

But after 9 years back in Oregon, we were ready for a change! Last August, I went to visit some friends in Vancouver, Canada. One of my friends, Amy Burkert of GoPetFriendly.com and I started talking about how hard it is to decide where you want to live. She mentioned that it’s the reason they live on the road and have for the past 6 years and it got me thinking. . . Kevin has always wanted to buy and RV and hit the road.

In October, we decided that we were going to sell our house, buy and RV and hit the road! Our plan was to put the house on the market on April 13th, but it seems the Universe had different plans for us. Our house closed on April 19th without ever listing it, and we moved into our RV on May 18th.

We are officially on a new adventure!

Our friends ask if we are retiring – HA! We both work from the road. Kevin is working remotely for his company, and I run a Web/Graphic Design & Consulting Company.

Because of this and the fact that we are traveling with 2 cast and a dog, we changed a couple things in our rig after we bought it. We removed the dinette and put in a desk for Kevin, and I converted the bunks to the “cat area”.

So far, we are loving our new lifestyle. Downsizing has been really easy for us and there isn’t anything we miss! We are excited about our new adventure and can’t wait to spend more time with family and friends along the way!

Thanks for following along!
